What’s the CEO-FD dynamic like in your business?

There’s no room for antagonism at the top of your business given the current climate: the UK is almost certainly entering a recession – and a nasty one at that – while the big ‘R’ has now been confirmed in the eurozone.
We spoke to three FD-CEO pairings from YouGov, The Listening Company and Crechendo about how it’s more important than ever to have a strong working relationship.
However, that doesn't mean agreeing on everything. The Listening Company finance director Trevor Brown says: “You have to have debate and tension. If everyone thought the same, the meetings would be very nice but the company would go bust. Good ideas wouldn’t get developed properly and bad ideas wouldn’t get kicked into touch.”
